We are a small stud that has been involved in Welsh ponies for over 30 years. Our focus is to breed quality ponies that are true to type, possess a lovely temperament and have the ability to perform.
We have been fortunate enough to have bred a Royal Welsh winner in Longhalves Crown Jester and produce a Royal Welsh ridden Champion - Moorfields Sunbeam. Our homebred stallion Longhalves Sword of Gold was hugely successful under saddle, winning the first HOYS qualifier ever held where there were over 40 ponies in the class! Sword won the HOYS section B final in 2001 and appeared at the Olympia ridden M & M Pony of the Year final no less than 4 times!
In 2008 we made the decision to purchase the 3 year old colt Lemonshill Falcon direct from his breeder Mrs Gilchrist Fisher. What a great decision this was! We have achieved many highlights along the way with Falcon - known as Monet at home. As a 5 year old Falcon qualified for HOYs and Olympia ridden finals. At the NPS summer championship he won the Picton Novice Final, the Peasedown Intermediate ridden Final, the Ringside Open ridden Final and Supreme Welsh ridden, all in the same year under numerous different judges. I am not sure whether this has ever been achieved before! We have enjoyed success in hand too with Falcon having been Champion Welsh B at the South of England, New Forest Show, Kent County, Suffolk County, Bath & West Show and Towerlands to name a few!
In 2014 we were fortunate enough to qualify Lemonshill Falcon for the pinnacle of in hand showing - the Cuddy Final at the Horse of the Year Show where he ended up being the top Welsh pony. A truly amazing experience and one which we hope we can repeat in the future.
The next generation is one we are pinning our hopes to! Longhalves Golden Sunbeam by Falcon out of a daughter of Longhalves Sword of Gold has already had great success in hand winning at Surrey County, and being top yearling at South of England show in 2015. Longhalves Renoir out of Rhoson Silwli by Falcon is a 3 year old colt with a tremendous future. Levi as he is known at home was unbeaten as a foal unbeaten in his class as a yearling and again as a 2 year old. He possesses size, scope, masses of bone and an exceptional temperament. He has covered a few select mares in 2015 so who knows what the future will bring!!
